Jupiter’s line of retail-ready power supplies are packaged in paperboard with a plastic inner tray. The exterior paperboard sleeve is sometimes wrapped with cellophane, also referred to as plastic cling wrap. In the future, we aim for our new packaging designs to include additional sustainability considerations.
Paperboard
Paperboard is accepted by most local curbside recycling programs. Check with your specific curbside recycler and follow recommended best practices for paperboard recycling. The majority of recycling programs request that paperboard is clean and dry to avoid contamination, as sorting and processing machinery can be damaged by soiled materials.
Thermoformed Rigid Tray
Unmarked thermoformed blister trays are generally considered Type 7 plastic and can be recycled where Type 7 plastic recycling is available. At times, you may be required to hold onto plastic until you have a significant quantity to recycle before local recycling plants will accept unmarked plastic. Few curbside recycling programs will accept unmarked plastic, but more are adapting over time.
Jupiter’s retail-ready thermoformed trays, although unmarked, are made of Polystyrene which can be recycled. Specialty recyclers in your local area may accept, in bulk, clean polystyrene for recycling. Our Polystyrene contains 95% Polystyrene, 3% Polybutadiene rubber, and 2% black color. Check with your recycler for more information about waste diversion in your area.
Plastic Film
We utilize cellophane which is a plastic polymer, BoPP plastic, uncoated. Some cities offer curbside recycling which will accept plastic film, however, most areas have drop-off locations traditionally found in grocery stores and plastic bag recycling bins. Use this directory to search for a drop off location near you, and don’t forget to note the type of plastics your drop off location accepts.
All master cartons of Jupiter wholesale products are shipped in rigorously tested cardboard boxes. From your initial samples all the way to mass production, we take pride in the sturdiness and dependability of our packaging.
Cardboard boxes are recyclable just like other paper products in most local curbside recycling programs. Check with your specific curbside recycler and follow recommended best practices for cardboard recycling. Usually this includes flattening the box and removing any tape and labels before placing in curbside recycling bin.
Each of Jupiter’s master cartons contain a plastic inner blister tray or in some cases a foam tray to safely transport your CCELL® products. Please review the packaging type and take action to divert waste where available.
Note: If plastic has come into contact with cannabis byproduct, make sure to clean thoroughly before recycling or consider disposing via the usual means for plant touching waste in your regulated region.
Our thermoformed plastic inner blister trays are used to transport the majority of the products currently made in our manufacturing facilities. They have passed stringent tests to ensure they meet our rigorous quality demands. Our new design indicates the plastic type and recycling symbol, allowing for recycling through most curbside recycling programs. PET Type 1 plastic is one of the most commonly used plastics and can be recycled alongside other plastics such as plastic water bottles when free from contamination.

Foam can be recycled to make a number of products. It’s also an incredibly sturdy packaging type that is used for some of Jupiter’s valuable partners.Some Jupiter partners ask to have their cartridges packaged in foam. The foam we utilize is a Polyethylene foam, often accepted at specialty recyclers throughout North America. PE foam is often bulky and requires a lot of storage space to keep and store until enough volume is collected. For easier storage, compactors are often used to compact and allow for binding. Some of our partners use Jupiter signature cartridge bottles to include in their packaging to consumers. These bottles feature a ridged plastic exterior, with a domed plastic lid that is childproof pending. The bottle is PET, the tube is PC, and the cap is PP.
Silicone is used in covers on most authentic CCELL® cartridges and mouthpieces, including thread covers and tapered mouthpiece covers. This colorless translucent silicone rubber is comprised of methyl vinyl polysiloxane (65% – 68%), silicone dioxide (23% – 28%), and silicone oil (4% – 6%).

At times, you may be required to hold onto silicone until you have a significant quantity to recycle before local recycling plants will accept silicone byproducts. Few curbside recycling programs will accept silicone, but more are adapting over time.
Lithium ion rechargeable batteries can be recycled at several local centers throughout North America. Search for a battery recycler near you online to find a location to safely recycle your lithium ion rechargeable batteries.
Avoid disposing of your cartridges in your household garbage, and hold onto your used cartridges until a recycling program is available in your area. Cartridges that have touched cannabis are considered cannabis waste, in other words hazardous waste. Many cannabis markets do not have recycling programs in place yet for recycling cartridges.
Jupiter is actively working with waste management experts to develop programs for plant-touching used cartridges.

Metal – Most types of metal are recyclable at specialty recyclers. At times, you may be required to hold onto metal until you have a significant quantity to recycle before local recycling plants will accept metal byproducts. Few curbside recycling programs will accept metal, but more are adapting over time.
E-waste recyclers are common throughout North America. Many box retailers such as Best Buy and Home Depot have e-waste drop-offs for recycling.
